Privacy policy
Vinely is run by the Vinely volunteers. Here's what we keep, who sees it, and how to delete it.
What Vinely keeps
- Your email address, display name and a scrambled copy of your password.
- The reports you file: location, size, land type and note.
- Your claims and the areas you resolve.
- Your watch areas.
- A record of the emails Vinely sends you.
Why
To run your account, show the public map, and send the emails you asked for. Vinely doesn't sell data and shows no ads.
Who sees what
- Everyone: reports, display names, claims and resolutions.
- Private land: everyone sees an area about 100 m wide. Only the reporter and members who claim it see the exact spot.
- Nobody else, ever: your email address and your watch areas.
Services Vinely uses
An email service sends Vinely's emails. A map provider draws the map and looks up addresses. A hosting provider runs the site. Each gets only what it needs for that job.
How long
The email record is kept for 90 days. Everything else is kept until you delete your account.
Deleting your account
Use "Delete my account" on your profile. Your email, password, profile and watches are deleted, and your open claims are released. Reports and resolutions you made stay on the map as by "a former member", because others rely on them.
Children
Vinely accounts are for people 13 and older.

A contact address will be published here when Vinely launches.
